David Frank Kunca

My first experience of Dave was hearing him singing opera. His booming voice wafted through the closed windows of his house, much to my delight, as I worked in my yard next door. He was elegant, funny and kind and I will miss the sound of his voice, his dry wit and comforting presence. He used his front porch as the original owners intended (1905) and he presided over the neighborhood. Will miss him very much.

Sad news. I met Dave during the "Kenmore years" in Uptown, Chicago. What a project! Talk about the ultimate urban pioneer! Dave and Don made a huge positive impact to that neighborhood and its odd cast of characters. We have been keeping in touch with each other since then. As recently as a couple of months ago. I am going to miss his unique voice and irreverent sense of humor. Hal
