David Lamm Obituary

Lubbock- David Lamm, 59, of Lubbock passed away from this world on January 24, 2019 in a peaceful manner, only befitting of manner with which he approached life and those of whom he loved. He was born August 10, 1959 to Richard and Berlie Lamm. He became a father young in life and would eventually bare five children, Daniel, Amber, Jon, Elisabeth and Madelyn, who he claimed were his biggest accomplishments in life. He is survived by his mother Berlie Mae Lamm, sister, Rebecca Ann Schaaff, grandchildren, Corbin, Kenley, Kameron, Charlie and Kali, great grandchildren, Ellie and Emmet. Tragically in 2000, he lost his daughter Amber, 19, which left his otherwise gigantic heart forever wounded. Ironically, he had faith that this wound would heal on this very same day that has now forever wounded the hearts of so many others. He was a simple man, never entangling himself in the wants of material things. He would laugh that his wardrobe was complete as long as one pair of his shoes didn't have a hole worn in the sole. He was a complex man, in that he knew what really mattered in life...never losing his temper, making new friends out of complete strangers and stopping by to check on his elderly mother daily, keeping her lawn mowed and taking her to every doctor's appointment. He could drop his fork during a hot meal (and often did) to run to the aid of a daughter in need of a home repair or just some fatherly advice. Unlike so many less fortunate souls who pass through life never getting the point, he clearly knew it all along! He lived each day to love and to be loved. He accomplished both to the highest standards. He is now laughing and loving again with Amber, Richard, Rick, and Cherie. His spirit remains to be sorely missed by the countless lives he touched along his journey. Visitation will be at Resthaven Funeral Home on Monday, January 28th from 6-8pm and services at Resthaven Abbey Chapel on Tuesday, January 29th at 10am.
