Five years ago today, I lost a dear friend, David, whom I had known since I was 18. We first met at a party in Short Hills over Thanksgiving break our freshman year of college, and we instantly connected. Through the years we shared so much of life - music, laughter, adventures, and memories that I treasure. Time has passed, but the loss is still felt, and our friendship will always be a part of me. David, you are remembered today and always.

David was a high school classmate. I recall he was academically conscientious but also took the time to sing with the Millburnaires. David and I reconnected after I returned to Millburn in 2000 because we were both interested in local politics. During the time of our reconnection, a friend of his became terminally ill; David thereafter, invested much of his life in supporting and helping him right up to his death.
