Not sure what to say?

I was saddened to hear just today of Dr Lechner's passing in January. He was our family's trusted ophthalmologist for over 20 years. He was kind, gentle, and always gave great explanations to kids and adults alike. When he left the practice he had been so instrumental in building it was clear how deeply the team left behind there felt his absence. The world is poorer for his absence. My deepest condolences to the family of which he was clearly so proud.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of Dave. Mick Anderson's memories of residency days, Sun Valley, the house we almost lived in together (what were we thinking?) all bring a smile to my face. I have not had contact with Dave and Nancy in many years, but I send sincere condolences to the family.

Linda and I are so sorry to hear about Dave. He and Nancy made our pediatric residency days the most enjoyable ever - particularly our trip to Sun Valley, many evenings and get togethers, and almost living in Mike Rothenberger's house together. Dave and I had many hard fought tennis matches together, which I remember always winning. Just thinking about him brings a smile to my face. Everyone will miss him. Mike and Linda Anderson

Dr. Lechner's family

I was saddened to hear of Dr. lechners passing. I went to him as my eye Dr. For quite awhile. I then had a major problem with my eyes . He called me at my home on a Sunday telling me to be at the UW for an appt. with Dr. Kalina on Monday! I credit Dr. Lechners for saving my eyesight! I have shared this with many people over the years and I so appreciated his fine work!

Thanks Dr. Lechner , you will be remembered!

To Dr. Lechner's family... Ward and I were saddened and shocked to read of David's passing. My parents, Hazel and Herb Carroll were patients and friends. And wen we returned to W. Seattle we became patients. When walking with my parents in the Genesee neighborhood we would meet David walking your lovely dog. His humor and graciousness endeared him to us all. Shortly after my father died last year, I met with David while walking and his compassion and candor comforted me.
We missed him...
