David Lee Erickson, 61, of Esmond, ND passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at CHI St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck, ND. Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 AM, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at North Viking Lutheran Church in Maddock with Pastor Cassie Borges officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
Dave was born January 13, 1960 in Maddock to Henry and Albina (Meyer) Erickson. The family lived on a farm northwest of Maddock. Dave graduated from Maddock Public School in 1978.
Dave worked as an intern for Baker Electric and briefly at the Rugby Livestock. He also worked for several area farmers. Dave’s passion for quality Quarter horses was instilled to him by his father, Henry. He had great pride in his registered Black Angus cattle, until the winter of 2017 took down his barn.
Dave enjoyed his pets, his many friends, all sports and was an avid Vikings fan (no matter how many times they disappointed him). Dave was confirmed and a member of the North Viking Lutheran Church.
Dave is survived by his sisters, Shirley (Duane) Olson of Rugby, ND, Judy (Jim) Engstrom of Leeds, ND, Elaine (Frank) Alfstad of Rugby, ND, Jane Gross of Rugby, ND, Diane (Ken) Gebhardt of Grafton, ND and Patty Schell of Rugby, ND; brother, Daniel Erickson of Harvey, ND; numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, Henry and Albina (Meyer) Erickson; brother-in-law, Richard Gross; great-nephew, Gate Gebhardt.

There are so many memories, I don't even know where to start, the Erickson ranch was always full of excitement, always something fun going on. Spent many nights at the Erickson house in high school and was always greeted by Dave with a big smile and a laugh, RIP my friend.
