Uncle Dave & Sophia

To the Leonard Family:

I'm from Canada and have been disturbed by the Phoebe Prince situation. I read that Mr. Leonard had an integral part in establishing the antibullying task force in his community. You must be so proud of this man, as I am. I'm saddened by your loss.

Very few people, do you meet in life, and accept them as a GOOD friend immediatly. Well this is what happened to Dave and I. I'm sure for Dave it must have happened alot, he was that kind of person. Always willing to help and offer his opinion. (which always seemed to be right on the money). His passion for helping South Hadley with the bullying prob., only came second to his love for Nicole.
I'll miss our long talks about important matters and important talks about family matters....

My Big Brother,

It hasn't hit yet-I've been so busy planning everything for your send off. I suppose when I need to talk about life, next year's football season when I want to ask what Peyton's thinking, or just to see what adventure you're on now, that's when it'll hit. Dave, Ellen asked me last night if I would let them eat all of their Easter candy instead of sending it to you like we always did. She didn't remember-it was just a question. I sat and cried for her. Those...

I will think of you everytime I go to the Summit View...I always looked forward to seeing you there...

Uncle Dave, even though I had not spent enough time with you whilst your visit in Australia, the couple of weeks that Dan and I shared with you will never be forgotten. He had taught me so much through your wise words and positive thinking. "It is how it is" he use to say to Dan and I. All my love to his daughter and family members. I will never forget you man!

I was shocked to hear about what happened to Dave. What I remember most about him during the years that I worked for LPM was his larger than life personality and his great "off the wall" sense of humor. He will truly be missed by his family and friends. Dave was a great guy and he always could put a smile on peoples' faces. May he rest in peace.

Dave would call often call me with a "quick" question and 30 minutes later we would get to that question and then talk for another 20 about nothing to do with why he called. He was so proud of you Nicole, in good times and not so good, family was very important to him. We would talk about our kids and you could just hear the proudness in his voice when he talked about you. Dave was such a positive person, and you were guaranteed a laugh every time he called. I will greatly miss our "short"...

Our hearts are greatly saddened and our heads still can't believe. Thoughts and prayers are with Nicole and all Dave's loved ones.
