David J. Lilley, 62 of Mendon, Michigan died August 16, 2004 at the Sturgis Hospital.

He was born March 7, 1942 in Detroit, Michigan a son of David L. and Pauline M. (O'Connor) Lilley. He had made his home in the Detroit area until moving to Kalkaska and had made St. Joseph County his home since 1990. David was a self employed painter and a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was a member of the Painters Union, Sturgis Eagles Lodge # 1314, enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling, a favorite spot was Northern Michigan and of course, most of all, his grandchildren.

Surviving are one daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Jim Reed of Sturgis; two grandchildren, David and Rachel Reed; Special friend Sharon Lowrey of Mendon; Mother, Pauline Lilley of Royal Oak; four brothers, Patrick, James, Michael and Christian Lilley; one sister Mary Anne Donley; several nieces and nephews; Preceded in death by his father;

According to his wishes cremation has taken place; Freinds and relatives may call at the Rosenberg-Schipper Funeral Home Ltd. of Sturgis on Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 P.M. at which time a memorial services will be held celebrating the life of David J. Lilley with Rev. Chet Allen of the New Life Assembly of God Church, of Colon, officiating.
