David Edward Linscott, age 74 of Millfield, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2022 at his home. Born April 23, 1948 in Athens, he was the son of the late Ed & Eileen Lands Linscott.
A graduate of Ames-Bern High School, he attended Ohio University. He retired as a firefighter after 27 years of service with the Athens Fire Department. He operated Mr. Ed’s Brittany’s and had a lifelong love of raising dogs. He was a Judge with the National Shoot and Retrieve Dog Trials and a lifetime member of the NRA. He served on the Sunday Creek Water Board for many years. He was a gunsmith, and enjoyed his family farm, Laz L Farm and music. He was a member of St. Bernadette Catholic Church in Lancaster.
David is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lori Zofchak Linscott; two daughters, Melissa (Bill) Knowlton of Buchtel and Denika (Clint Thompson) Moon of Lancaster; two sons, Shane (Staci) Linscott of Columbus and Dustin (Miki) Zofchak of Japan; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four sisters, Mary Ann (Paul) Kilzer of Millfield, Patricia (Paul) Brown of Logan, Karen (Larry) Dean of Florida, and Linda (Pete) Hart of Guysville; a brother, Donald (Cathy) Linscott of Amesville; also surviving are several nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and great and great-great nephews.
Besides his parents, David is preceded in death by three grandchildren, Ichiro Zofchak, Samantha and Madeline Linscott.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 31 Republic Ave., Glouster with Father Tyron Tomson as celebrant. Burial will be in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Glouster/ Trimble. The Rosary service will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Friends may call Sunday 5-8 p.m. at Jagers & Sons Funeral Home, 24 Morris Ave., Athens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pregnancy Resource Center, 77 E.
