Not sure what to say?

As the steward/bartender at the West Dennis Yacht during the summer of 1973 I recall Senator Locke approaching my bar after a day of sailing. I had already been instructed to serve his cocktail in his special glass so I was a bit nervous as I mixed his drink. He reached out his hand, introduced himself and put me at ease. He knew I had just graduated from Boston College so we talked about BC, my plans for the summer and the future ahead. I had been prepped that this man was one of the most...

There is not enough space to explain the greatness of this Man. My family was also fortunate enough to be raised in Wellesley, Senator Locke all but saved my life in the one time of my dire need. An Altruistic "friend". The unselfish concern for the welfare of others. That was who he was. Whether having lunch at Casey's diner in Natick or debating on the Senate floor. A compassionate professional. My late Dad was so proud to be good friends with Senator Locke. Neither could be...

Hi Jennie,
This is Maureen Hogan, from hitchhiking in the 1970s- I just learned of your father's death and want to extend my most sincere condolences.
It just so happened that I was rereading my Canadian travels journal, and looked for your dad on line, recalling that he was a MA Senator.
Again, so sorry for your loss. Would love to hear from you. Email [email protected]

It is with the greatest sadness that I write this entry. David Locke was a lifelong friend of my father's and they shared so many wonderful childhood stories and memories. Dave was one of the kindest, most lovely gentlemen that I will ever have had the pleasure of knowing and I cannot express how his friendship to both of my parents made such an impact in their lives. I will be forever grateful to him for his generosity and thoughtful wisdom, and for standing for all the important values...

Serving with David in the Massachusetts Senate was a truly enriching experience. If one simply listened when he debated, there were lessons to be learned in logic, eloquence and wit. (although being a member of a different party, I was sometimes the victim of that wit). His family may be rightfully proud of a good man and true leader whom I came to admire and respect. Senator Louis Bertonazzi

My sincere condolences to the Locke family. I fondly remember Senator Locke from the summers spent on the cape.

Kyle (Loftus) LaChance

I only remember this name in the papers decades ago, yet I mourn the loss of this great Bay Stater/attorney/legislator, David Locke. I never met him or lived in his town, but he was truly great, honest, and personable in everything he did. If there were more David Lockes in public service, here, in D.C., and our country, we wouldn't have had the sadness and division we are
going through today. Farewell to Sen./Atty./David Locke and sorry for his family's loss. RIP.
* God Bless America....

David Locke was a role model and mentor to me during my early political career. His integrity, devotion to democracy. and compassionate conservatism were motivating and a conscience. It was an honor to serve in the MA House when he helped lead in the MA Senate.

Kathleene joins me in celebrating David life and public service.
