Joan, I am so sorry to read of your loss. I am Joanne Mattoon Bower, your parents were friends of Gershom and Clara Mattoon. How many years have gone by since that time? May God give you and yours comfort in your time of sorrow.

I lost a wonderful boss and friend! Mr. Lorion was a kind, compassionate, and hard working man. He would always stop by everyone's cubicle and talk with them. He knew their families and names. Always willing to lend a helping hand. I remember he went to a client's home to work on the furnace when it was cold and no heat in the home. No job was ever beneath him. I worked for many years in Shiawassee County Social Services, as did my mother, Jane Squiers. He was always good to his staff and was always looking for ways to make our work environment better. He enjoyed a good potluck and was a part of most social activities within the office. I have a picture of him BBQ hotdogs with Dave Bough for an office picnic.
