Just thinking about my English professor at MCCC which I attended in 1971. I also boarded at his Fisher Ave home in West Trenton along with another student. He had an Irish setter named Squire and a cat named Roderick.

David was an inspiration to me at a time when I needed it very bad. I was stuck in a rut, working long shifts at General Motors on the assmbly line and attending MCCC. David's American Literature class is by far the best class I have ever attended in my life. His enthusiasm for the subject matter was electrifying to me. I spent hours in the library, happily searching for information to make David proud of me. I never really said too many words to David, I am sorry for that, I would have loved...

I have knpwn David since I taught at Mercer County Community College.
We shared similar religious and academic principles. He was smart, funny, and loyal. Once he apologized for naming one of his dogs Harry, my late husband's name. I remember to this day one of his MCCC rallying calls:"I have given up the gerundive, but I will never give up the gerund." His house and his mind were marvelously eclectic, but his soul was single. I love David. May the angels lead him to heaven
