Not sure what to say?

We think of David often and miss his kindness, sense of humor and his gifts as a surgeon Sara Hart

What a kind-hearted, dedicated, intelligent, understanding and giving doctor David was. I had just graduated from Boston University and my first nursing job was at Tufts-NEMC when Dr. David Lovejoy was an intern. Words cannot communicate the totality of his perfect choice of a vocation in life. I pray his family and friends are comforted by the memory of who he was and the healing he provided for so many people. Oddly enough, I was simply googling his name to see if he was still practicing...

We just called to book an appointment with Dr Lovejoy and were given the sad news of his passing. He was a great doctor who treated not only myself but my whole family. He will especially be missed by my oldest daughter. Dr Lovejoy was the only surgeon she would allow to repair her knee. With his passing all us patients lost a truly gifted doctor and surgeon, he will be truly missed!

We didn't know David as a doctor but as the wonderful person living next door to our parents in Marblehead. You could not ask for a better neighbor. He was friendly, generous and helpful -- whether it was lending his pick-up truck, kayaks or just talking about gardening. He was happy to consult on my wife's hip replacement while talking about his own. Our condolences to the Lovejoy family.

My entire family is deeply saddened to hear of the passing of a great man. My daughter broke her finger yesterday and my wife and I immediately requested Dr. Lovejoy. We were shocked to hear he had just passed away. My son in college was very sad as Dr. Lovejoy always took care of him since he was 8. He would even meet us on his off day in Salem. God bless you Dr. Lovejoy and thoughts and prayers to your entire family during this sad time. You will be missed.

I have been a paitent of Dr LoveJoy since 1980 when he was a resident at Mass General. He treated me for a severe injury to my knee that required several surgeries and procedures over a 30 year period. When my knee was worn out beyond repair his partener successfully replaced my knee. I made all my trips down to see Dr Lovejoy from Maine 2 hours away. Not only did I lose a great Doctor, but a great friend. I will always remember my visits to this great Doctor.

I had the honor of being Dr. Lovejoy's medical assistant while he was at Littleton Hospital. He was a true mentor to me while I continue my career in the healthcare field. On countless occasions he would teach me what and why he was doing to best treat his patients. He was a great man. I will forever be grateful for the encouragement that he gave me in my pursuit of a medical career. His guidance will be sorely missed. May he rest in peace.

A wonderful physician and a kind compassionate person.I shall miss my doctor.

My prayers are with the family. He inspired a lot of us in the Littleton , N.H. area to do the Best each day and to keep your sense of humor. May your spirit live on, in all those you touched. Kathy Head R.N.
