Not sure what to say?

My name is Colin Norris. I am a senior at Winfield City High School in Winfield Al. My government teacher is having us write to a family of a fallen warrior, and yours stuck out to me for some reason. A little bit about myself: I love football, fishing, and hunting. I plan on becoming a pharmacist after high school. I know that no words could comfort you for the loss of David. However, I want to say thankyou. It is because of brave men and women like David who are willing to lay down their...

I live in South Africa. We here in South Africa are sad with you and each American family that lose a loved one in the war. May God carry the family and friends through the years to come

To the Lyon Family, Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of your loved one and hero David, and my sincerest gratitude for his service for our country.
God bless you Capt. David I. Lyon...you will not be forgotten.

Dana,
My heart is breaking for you and for the rest of Dave's family. I pray that God's peace will be felt by all of you in a supernatural way. You are a woman with incredible grace and strength and I love you.

Shelly Harrison (Ryan USAFA '09 and Sean's USAFA '11 mom)

RIP and God Bless You Always Heaven Deployed Warrior Angel. I will be forever grateful to you for your service and for my freedom.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. David will never be forgotten.
For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I'm home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I'm only a civilian
And I don't even know if it's allowed
But I salute you; allow me the honor to salute you with permission let...

Our daughter and her husband are USAFA grads from '99 and '00. I offer this Arapaho prayer: You will not see the sun rise in the east again, nor will you see the moon in all its brightness in the night sky, nor feel the wind on your face nor the earth beneath your bare feet. Today you are going home. May the ancestors greet you and show you the way. May your journey be joyful.

We are so very sorry for your loss. What a tragic loss. Thank you for your service to our country. Dana, you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers.

Thank you Capt. Lyon for your service and for protecting my freedoms in our country. To the family of Capt Lyon, God bless you and know that he is a hero. Rest in Peace.
