I thought Dave was a really good guy during my time at Cedar Springs school, and liked trading Facebook posts with him over the past few years. I was absolutely shocked and sad when my Mom showed me his obituary in local newspaper. I want to offer my sympathy and condolences to his family

I didn't know Dave real well, as I live 700 miles away, but well enough to know he made Mindy (my younger sister) the happiest that I have seen her in her lifetime. I felt a closeness with him like one of my own brothers. He was a welcome addition to our family and a fantastic guy. I will truly miss him as a friend and brother in law. My heartfelt condolences to the entire MacKinnon clan.
