If anyone runs into Mac in heaven, tell him thanks. A few months ago I picked up a basketball for first time in forever at an empty court Drained 44 out of 50 shots. Could hear Mac in my ear..."square your shoulders, elbows in, aim for front of the rim, FOLLOW THROUGH!!" RIP Mac!

Nothing but fond memories of Dave. My first coach. Never once did he scream at or berate me for my endless mistakes on the court. Instead he’d pull me to the side and respectfully and patiently explain how I could improve. The perfect coach for young kids. We Holy Child players were known for our fundamentals, be it at the foul line, boxing out on defense, setting picks, racing back on defense, never swatting a ball out of bounds, drawing an offensive foul, ...damn, the list is endless! And...

Dear Dave, thanks for all you did for so many kids over so many years. I've referenced you countless times over the years, especially when I'm trying to explain the fundamentals of ANYTHING to anyone! Beyond hoops, you taught us about life. The world was a better place because of you. May you rest in Peace.

"Dave was a very inspirational person to the youth of Holy Child. He always told us we could suceed at the sport we were playing. His positive influence has carried over into many of our adult lives; we've been passing these attributes onto our very own children. Dave, I thank you for this. It was my pleasure to have crossed paths with you during my life. We'll shoot hoops and play ball together again in the next life." Rich Knappik (perkasie,Pa)

Like everyone that has or will post a message, Dave Mac was my first coach and a great influence to many of us from Holy Child. He was a father figure, a big brother, coach and friend all rolled up into one. I've thought of him so many times over the years when teaching my children or their friends the fundamentals of the game (Basketball or Baseball) he taught me. He loved the fundamentals! Whether it was a pickup game at the gym, bowling at Adams lanes or a cheesesteak at Dalessandro's, Mac...

WOW- I can't believe that Dave Mac is gone... that's sad. Dave was a MAJOR influence in my life while I was growing up and I think about him VERY often. Dave always put the kids of Holy Child ahead of himself and his job. He truly was one of a kind and a true Gentleman. I spoke with him a couple times over the past couple of years and never did he tell me that he was feeling ill... he never did much care for Doctors. I was hoping that he would attend the Holy Child reunion in the Fall...

I enjoyed my years with Dave in playing baseball, basketball and going down to the NJ shore for the day. Great memories for a giving person from Holy Child.

Dave was my first basketball and baseball coach. I never think of Dave without a smile coming over my face. I now coach 10 and 11 year olds, the same age I was back in Holy Childs gym at Broad and Duncannon practicing defense and shooting drills. Thanks Dave, I'm sure you are in a peacefull place. Enjoy the ride. Love, Dan Duffey
