Not sure what to say?

My dear cousin will always remain in my heart and in my prayers. Like all of our family members, his kind and loving spirit will remain with us as an example of what we should be to one another.

I'm so sorry to hear of David's passing. I recently realized I hadn't heard from him in a long time and discovered his obituary online. He & I were great friends when he lived in San Francisco. I was a country boy and he showed me around the City by the bay and introduced me to his wide circle of friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and that New Orleans sensibility that is so unique. David could always make people laugh with his wild stories. We kept in touch for many years and I...

David at Mardi Gras, 2007

David was a close friend. His passing is a great loss.

He was a deeply religious person who ministered to many in our community who felt left out. Many times he lightened my burdens when I felt them most heavily.

I am glad he lived long enough to see the Saints win the Super Bowl -- what joy that brought him!

My condolences to David's family, friends, and co-workers. I wish I could have been there. I'm grateful you have taken time to honor this gentle man.

I was sad to learn only yesterday that David has left us. His warm smile and cheerful conversation brightened my days, and encountering him at FQP or in the neighborhood always left me smiling, too. David was kind to me at a difficult time, and for that I'm grateful. My condolences to his family and colleagues. Like so many, I have fond memories of David and will surely miss him.

We will miss seeing David's smile and hearing his stories and jokes on a daily basis. For the past seven years, you've been a nice addition to every day. God speed, God bless. (Saffy will miss you – and your treats – most of all.)

I will miss David very much. He was a good friend and a great person. I learned a lot from him and will never forget him.

I had the pleasure of working with David he was a very nice and kind man, may his soul rest in peace.

When David was still a resident at Project Lazarus the Volunteer Coordinator, Sister Marcy, took us with her on Public Relations events. David would tell his personal story, and I would tell my experience as a volunteer. We were a good team. When he left Lazarus for his own apartment (right across the street), we continued to keep in touch. We've lost a special friend.
