David Mars

I was very sorry to hear of Dave´s passing. He was a person who made everybody feel welcome when they visited Agudath Sholom in Lynchburg. When I arrived over 60 years ago, he greeted me with a big smile and I immediately liked him. For most of his life he greeted all newcomers and visitors alike. Mr. and Mrs. David Mars were wonderful neighbors and friends. David would always greet me with a charming smile and a welcoming countenance. I always knew he and I would have good and wholesome conversations, often about children, teens and life in general. He would always show respect by calling me by my title in my chosen career and was faithful to his beliefs. Because of his goodness, his spirit will endure forever.

David and I were friends for many years. We were both members of Agudath Sholom where he was a past President and held several other leadership roles over the decades. I am grateful for his service to our congregation and his service to our country in WWII. I enjoyed spending many hours talking with David about religion, history, politics, law, and our families. Jacquie and I will not forget him nor will we forget the thoughtful kindness that he showed us.

Mr Mars was one of my favorite patients at my dental office. He had a big smile, a loving heart. Fly high
