Not sure what to say?

My heart goes out to Dr. Martins family and friends. I worked with him over the past 7 years when he did relief work at our clinic. He was such a warm, kind-hearted, soft-spoken man who truly had a way with the animals and people. He taught me so much and I will forever be grateful to have had him in my life. You will forever be missed and in our thoughts, Dr. Martin.

I went to high school with Dave and his brother Kenny was our best man at our wedding, what a shock to hear of this accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of his family and friends, he was a great guy growing up and from all the nice notes he continued to be a caring, kind person. May God give each of you comfort.

Please accept my deepest condolences over your loss. I didn't know your father, but I feel like I did because of his love of the outdoors, his concern for animals, and his ability to gather many new friends who were never strangers. His memory will live on forever, as he was a true people's advocate. May God grant you all comfort in your time of grieving.

To the Martin Family,
Keep your father with you. He will stay alive in your hearts until you see him again. Find comfort in honoring his life by cherishing the memories and blessings that he bestowed upon you and many others. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Martin Family:
We are so sorry for the loss of your father. As neighbors you all have been so friendly, warm and good hearted people. Very loving family.
We wanted to tell you that in the early mornings when our feet would be dragging to go for a run on the beach, a swim, bike or any workout. We were most certainly greeted by your dad's smile as he passed us on his workouts. So inspiring and kept us going sometimes. He will be missed. You all are in our thoughts and prayers,

Dear Martin Family,
Deepest condolences on the death of Dave. I was in SF speaking when I saw the news on TV. It was later while visiting another AGR fraternity brother, Terry Witzel, that we discovered the victim of the shark attack was our colleague and brother. What a shock and tragic loss. I want you to know our thoughts are with you. Warmest regards, Roy H. Saigo

Farewell Brother. Our thoughts are with your family.

Dave and I were born 3 months apart to mothers who were nursing school classmates. I have great memories of playing with him at the Martin ranch in Riverside. We lost touch in later years but reconnected when Dave took special care of our cat, Kay T. I will miss his caring for people and animals and his great warm smile. Be at Peace, good friend.

Dear Martin family,
I am so very sorry for the tragic loss of your father. He was my family's vet for nearly 25 years. He helped take care of all our pets, everything from a small dog I found in Mexico suffering from mange and other injuries to a newborn wild rabbit abandoned by its mother. He was a consummate vet, always professional but with compassion and incredible kindness.
I hope his children take comfort in the fact he lived his life fully and earned the respect of his clients...
