I remember David. He was very nice and respectful. I played with him a number of times. Sorry he's gone.

Thank you for the piano lessons, David. I learned much from you, and I wish you Godspeed. You were one of the greatest.

Well, David. I'm going to consider you an Angel up there as I too have recently discovered that I have prostate cancer and will have surgery April 21st. I miss talking with you at sauna and will never forget our friendship. I'll bet you're giving concerts up there!

I have only fond memories of David and the music we made together. R.I.P. in the blues heavens.

While living in Boston in the years 1973-1976, I was at most of Muddy Waters' New England shows, having known Muddy from Chicago and written three songs with him. I can vividly recall the many occasions on which David joined Muddy onstage. When David played piano, Muddy would invariably get a twinkle in his eyes, and he would often whisper "That's Spann," referring to the sound of his longtime piano player Otis Spann, widely regarded as one of the great Chicago Blues piano players. I am very sad to find this today, David helped me get my music career started when I produced some of his music with George Lewis. They became my Boston family, the rest is history. David will be missed. Safe travels my friend.

Good Morning - I am Deeply Saddened this morning to Here of David's passing. I got to meet & jam with David back in Arlington on a Chance encounter when I called Him for some Piano Lessons. He let me Jam Harmonica with Him at His Home and I was "Blessed". I'm a Bluegrass & Folk musician. I took my wife Denise to see Him at the Charles Hotel when we first got married & "She" got to meet Him also and enjoyed His Blues !
