Byles Memorial Home - New London Obituary

Mazzella, David Charles, 71 of New London died Thursday January 25, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born May 11, 1946 in Waterbury CT to John Irving Mazzella Sr. and Gertrude Dutcher.


After graduating from Waterford High School he joined the US Army where he was honorably discharged. He then was employed at Electric Boat for 36 years and retired as a Mechanical Inspector.


He is survived by his longtime companion Beth Crosley; son David J Mazzella: sisters Louise McCracken and Judith Kelsey; brother John Mazzella. He was preceded in death by brother Anthony Swienciki.

Today is the anniversary of you leaving us. It has been Four years now and there isn't a day that goes by that I haven't thought of you I love and miss you very much. Say hi to Mom and John and we miss them too.

I will never forget the best burger I ever had on the grill, was prepared by Dave! And as much as I try, it just never comes out the same...We had some great laughs for sure sitting in the kitchen.. DAVID we miss you deeply so happy we got to spend time with you and Beth in Oct last year. You are one of a kind knew you before I even met John your twin .Part of you will forever be left in John Louise Judy and of course Davy . LOVE YOU John and Margie

Dave was like a dad to me for over 20yrs. He was a fun supportive and a very loving and helpful man. He was papa dave. He will be loved and miss always.

Papa Dave you always had a way of brightening up the room, making everybody smile and laugh. Ill always cherish the memories of watching the stock market with you. You are vey much loved and will certainly be missed. I love you.
