David W. McCoy

David was an incredible entomologist and brilliant photographer. But more than anything was his iconoclastic nature that was a breath of fresh air in a workplace crammed till bursting with ennui. You will be missed big Dave!

Dave was a good friend and an excellent coworker. I was saddened when hearing the news of his passing. He will be missed and I offer my condolences to his family.

My sincerest condolences to all who shared in his life, especially his family. I always enjoyed speaking to David. He always had something interesting to share within the topic of entomology. May he rest in peace.

David had such an interesting personality. From time to time, I would deliver samples to his office, and I couldn't just leave without taking some time to chat with him whether it was about bugs, his garden or personal endeavors; it was always such a pleasure to just talk to him. I will always remember his gentle "uhum" as to acknowledge his interest and understanding of what I was sharing with him. You will be missed. Godspeed David.

I met Dave in 2015 when I first moved to south Texas. We worked together for 8 years before he retired. He was a joker and a problem solver. I remember Dave didn't wait for permission if he saw something wasn't working, he jumped in with a plan and executed it. He made a lot of our jobs easier. I will always be grateful for his mentorship and friendship over the years both in and out of the office. He attended many of the plays at the community theater that my kids and I were in, bought...

David will be missed! He was a great asset and leader in his field as an Entomologist with USDA-APHIS-PPQ, he was a mentor, coach and friend to many of us. David had over 30 years of service in PPQ and to our Agriculture Mission. May he rest in peace. We will miss you David!

Had the privilege of knowing Dave and his family. Great guy and will be sorely missed. God always wants the good ones with him.

NOT A MAN, A BRILLIANT MIND !!!

Uncle David was such a good cook, He could make a 3 course meal from scratch and still find the time to finish a book. He will continue to be loved and remembered! May he find peace and rest with the Lord.
