AUBURN | David Paul McGrath, 77, of Thornton Avenue, Auburn, died Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Auburn Community Hospital. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Thomas J. and Marie K. McGrath, Sr. David was a graduate of West High School and received an associate's in business from Auburn Community College. He was an Air Force veteran and was employed by the city of Auburn as a parking attendant. David was a communicant of St. Mary's Church and was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians and the S.K. Post. He is survived by his brother, Thomas (Annette) McGrath of Brighton, Mich.; four nieces, Marilyn (Roger) Gabinski, of Shipshewana, Ind., Marlene Cota, of Memphis, Tenn., Mary (Scott) Asselmeier, of Glen Ellyn, Ill. and Monica (Chris) Shakelford, of Wheaton, Ill.; cousins Jack and Patty Koskey, Richard and Roberta Cummings, Richard and Susan Koskey, Robert and Janet Koskey, Maryann and Larry Bunnell and Kathleen Kunkel; and by seven great nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 24 at Langham Funeral Home, LLC, 75 E. Genesee St., Auburn. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of David.
