Lori, I was truly saddened when I heard of Dave's passing. I didn't hear about it until 9/11 and saddened again that I was not at his service. As you know I have considered Dave a friend and role model for over the past approximately 40 yrs, starting when he was a detective and I was a rookie. Dave is one of the few people I have known who was always "larger than life" in my eyes. To Lorie and family we are so sorry for your loss. For those of us who spent time with Dave he was a mentor, friend and just a down to earth guy. I was fortunate to work and learn from Dave and became a better detective and person for it. I remember the camping trips, him roofing my house , to just seeing him around town. Always a smile or a story. You are going to be missed my friend and you won't be forgotten. Until we meet again.

My husband and I rented office space down the hall from Dave. Whenever he was working with the door open we could always expect a joke or a hearty hello as we walked past. Even though we hardly knew him, he made an impression on us, even after being gone from that space for several years. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. He was a treasure❤
