David K. Mihm
David K. Mihm 78, of Franklin Grove formerly of Lee, IL passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Franklin Grove Living and Rehab. He was born December 3, 1946, in Sycamore, IL and was the son of John and Jeanne (Coffey) Mihm.
David was a dedicated laborer who worked with pride and integrity for various companies throughout the area, proudly representing Labor Union Local 109. On June 8, 1990, he married the love of his life, Deirdre Feeney, in Geneva, IL—a union filled with deep love and unwavering companionship.
David found joy in the simple and meaningful things in life. He had a deep passion for gardening, enjoyed woodworking and cooking, and a keen eye for antiques and firearms. Above all, David had a special place in his heart for his dogs, who were not just pets, but loyal companions and beloved members of his family.
Survivors include; wife Deirdre Mihm of DeKalb, four sisters-in-law; Nora Feeney, Meegan (Dean Hudson) Richards, Moira (Steve) Hopkins and Karol Nelson. Numerous nieces and nephews, two half siblings; Willie Stewart and Kathy Stewart both of DeKalb. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Michael Mihm, half siblings; Bonnie Mitchell, Richard Stewart, and Julie Faivre.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, from 10:00am-12:00pm at Finch Funeral Home in DeKalb. Memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sycamore at a later date.
