Not sure what to say?

I was among colleagues at the University of Alberta who collaborated with David on communications initiatives some years ago. He was always a delightful man to work with - funny, insightful, so knowledgeable. My sincere condolences to David’s family.

I was David's assistant when he headed the previous Department of Communication and Culture at UCalgary. He brought a great sense of humour and lightness to my days, and he had a wonderful laugh to accompany it all. From watching his favourite clips of Flight of the Conchords in his office to talking deeply about theory and art--he was a pleasure to work for.

My sincere condolences to David’s family and loved ones,

I knew David when we were children, as our two families were very close. Although I was buddies with his older sister Candice, I knew and liked David very much. My heartfelt condolences to Brenda, Candice (Candy), John, (Patty) Gay, April, Laurie and Holly.
Hilary (Dawkins) Sandford

We are very saddened by David’s passing. We worked with David at the University of Calgary for many years, and we remember him very fondly. In particular we remember his strength as a leader through good times and bad: his sharp intellect, his enthusiasm, his sense of humour, his ready laugh, his warmth, his kindness. David was a valued colleague and friend, and we will miss him. We send heartfelt condolences to Brenda and family.

Tamara and Robert Seiler

Having worked side by side with David for many years, I will miss knowing that his wry sense of humour and erudite conversation will no longer enhance our world. My condolences to Brenda, Robert, and Lynnfield. We all miss him.

In memory of a wonderful academic and research colleague. I will always appreciate our time working together on the Alberta SuperNet project.

Never had the pleasure of meeting David but, from all Jude has told me, sorely wish I had. Sincerest condolences to you all.
