DAVID A. MOFFETT, 61, passed away on May 27, 2016 at his home in Las Cruces, NM. Born in Miami, FL on November 11, 1954, he was the son of Nelson Moffett and Martha Z. Moffett. He is survived by his siblings; Nelson Moffett (Earlene) of Georgetown, TX, Paul Moffett of Iverness, FL, Russell Moffett (Bonita) of Petersburg, VA, Cathy Kaczmarek (Gary) of Lutz, FL; his daughter Jennifer Moffett; fiancé Beatrice Valles; stepchildren, who he loved as his own, Dawnmarie Martinez (Amador) and Charlie V. Amezquita (Rachel); grandchildren Ryne, Eric, & Marae Martinez and Olivia & Vivian Amezquita, all of Las Cruces, NM. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lee Ann Moffett.
David had a kind heart and giving soul. He was always willing to put the needs of others before his own. He loved riding his motorcycle, being outdoors, traveling, cooking, and spending time with his family. David recently traveled on his motorcycle across the country to visit his siblings. David was a loyal Miami Dolphins fan and was always up for a conversation about football. He had a gift for conversation and could talk to anyone about anything for hours. His ability to lift a person’s spirit would draw others to him. When it came to being a handyman there was nothing that “Grandpa David” could not do. He was a dedicated and honest worker. At the time of his passing, David was employed at Villa Sierra Apartments for 14 years.
David will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His loving ways and gentle spirit will never be forgotten. With a heavy heart we say goodbye, but we shall meet again. “See you later, alligator!”
Visitation will begin at 1 PM Friday, June 3, 2016 at Baca’s Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Memorial Service will follow at 1:30 PM with Pastor Jesse Frausto (friend and neighbor) officiating. Cremation will follow and Inurnment of Cremains will be held at a later date.

I am so saddened to hear of David's passing. Although I had the opportunity to meet David only once during a CPR/1st Aid course I facilitated, he was so very friendly and a kind hearted soul. I could tell immediately that he was indeed a great person. My condolences to the family and may GOD Bless you all during this most difficult time. The world will miss David immensely...

Bea and family, please accept our heartfelt condolences for your loss. David was a good guy and a great neighbor. He didn't mind lending your a tool or giving you a hand when you needed help. We will miss seeing the garage door open and knowing he is around.
