My relationship with the Mummert family goes way back to when they lived on Lincoln Street in Steelton. I remember the family and when Mr. Mummert used to show us kids cartoon movies from his old world projector in his basement. In addition, Janet (aka "Sissy") and I were classmates (Class of '52) at Steelton High School. In retrospect, I can say that the Mummerts were early believers of the concept of brotherhood, as evident in the way they accepted me....way before the concept of "Black...

Uncle Larry is a big part of so many of my best childhood memories - usually with one of his goofy jokes making me laugh! He bought me a Polaroid camera when I graduated from high school and I still have a whole box of photos I took with it over the years.
My children grew up with Uncle Larry teasing them all the time - calling my son "PJ, BJ, DJ, or CJ" - anything but AJ! So AJ starting calling him "Uncle Perry",and that stuck as our family nickname for him.
Larry's loss will be felt...

Larry and Shirley will be missed by the class of '56 monthly luncheons. May he rest in peace.
