Not sure what to say?

As I am watching on my computer the live streaming of Winter Solstice in Newgrange , Ireland I am thinking of my conversations with Dave . He really enjoyed exploring myth and the psyche . I was lucky to have him as my supervisor. Thank you Dave !

His love of his family and his mentorship lives in my memory today

We are so grateful to those who have shared their stories. Thornton Wilder wrote: There is a bridge between the living and the dead. That bridge is love. The only meaning. I will add that the bridge is built with stories.

Dave along with other leaders hired me at Kaiser and he supported my career there up until his last days at KP. I remember having candid conversations with him and his willingness to listen . He always asked about my children. He had a wry subtle sense of humor and I remember us discussing how much we enjoyed the movie " Stranger than Fiction ". Wishing peace to Dave and his family.

I worked with Dave at Kaiser, in the Mental Health Department. At some point he was my manager. I appreciate having had the opportunity to develop professionally under his direction. I have a memory of sitting in his office reviewing my caseload, he was behind his desk attentive to what I was saying. In reading through his obituary, I am reminded of his impressive career and all of the care he provided in so many capacities.

Dave was my colleague and a very supportive supervisor. He had the wisdom to allow me and my team to have the freedom to innovate without needing to be overly controlling. As a result, we were able to achieve exceptional results, even with limited resources. He allowed and encouraged us to training pre-doctoral psychology students and psychology residents which not only added to our clinical capacity but enriched our program in general. Beyond this, he was generally very supportive of...

Dave and I were classmates at USF. Psych majors. We did our Senior thesis together. The title was "Prejudice in Wine Tasting". All our California wines were provided by the California Wine Advisory Board. We rode the #5 bus back to college each with a case of vino on our laps. The professor wanted to give us a B+ because we had too much fun. But Dave said we deserved an A and that´s what we got. A really good guy with a great voice and presence.

An Irish whisky toast and a fire by his Idaho cabin surrounded by the brilliant and free thinking people Dave drew into his deep conversations. Dave was the reason I came to Kaiser inspired by the challenges and trust he offered me as a mentor. He was always funny and interesting even when he was having to do things that were very hard. We talked weekly for the years I worked in mental health and he never failed to give me great ideas and support me with irreverent warmth. He also never...

Dave was an amazing person ! He and Lauretta Young were an outstanding leadership team in the Kaiser Mental Health Department. ! I was the clinical group and intern coordinator. Dave was my supervisor. There was a period of about 8 consecutive years under Lauretta and Dave's Leadership that the MH Department felt like a Camelot experience of organizational life . It was a remarkable active learning culture for years that has shaped my life to this day. Rare to find! Dave was a very...
