Not sure what to say?

Wow! Already four years! I miss your little chuckle and your friendship. And my mom, Veryl, speaks about you often and how much she cared about you. Jeanie Pochatko (MORTENSON)

David encapsulated the essence of an event or a dish with savory words and occasional humorous bite. I will never forget his finding me a good job on air. Journalists don't usually support each other. He did. I will miss his je ne sais 'fun'... his expertise, and flair. RIP David.

David, a friend of many talents and many friends, widely known for his exquisite small suppers for his friends, old and new. David, alway there to help and comfort his friends.. We miss you.V.M.

Hey, David,
You and I had some great times together!
You were my Oscar Wilde!
Thank you for being my friend.
I'll see you in heaven.
Love you,
Jeanie

We met David through his mother Marion--both wonderful people. We were so sorry to hear of his passing--he was fairly young. Our best to his entire family at this sad time.
David and Michael

I will always cherish David. He was a wonderful person and a pure joy to be around. My wife and I loved comparing notes and reviews and find a great hole in the universe with his passing.

My condolences to a wonderful person.

Always appreciated his reviews and his subtle (and not so subtle) comments. He was able to capture the essence of eating. Rest in Peace.

David interviewed me in'1984 for San Diego Home/Garden, Silver Fork Award, Seafood Chef at then Cafe Pacifica, Old Town. I was very nervous during that time! I went on to win the award for best Seafood Chef, I cooked a few times for David and was always excited when he came to dine with us!
