Dr. David Newton

I am thinking about my beloved friend Dave and his family as the anniversary of his death approaches. May God bless all of you. I know I miss him terribly.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Dave's passing. Dave and I were very close through our years at Temple and although we had not been in touch for over 10 years (I cannot believe it was that long) he always held a very special place in my heart...I imagine that he always will...he was that kind of person...that "good" of a person. I got in touch with most of the Temple gang and all were shocked and saddened, but remembered him fondly...this past weekend, we went to Temple's...

Dear Mrs. Newton,

We just recently found out about Dr. Newton's death and I would like to offer my sincere sympathy to you and your family. Without your husband my husband probably wouldn't be here today. He was a wonderful man and a great doctor not only professionaly but personaly. He always took the time for my husband every time he saw him and he was devasted about his passing. Dear Mrs. Newton,
As I sit here, I still can't believe that Dave is no longer with us. My heart is filled with sadness and loving memories of my first love. Although much time has passed, I will never forget the time Dave pedaled his bicycle 105 miles to my home in New Jersey so we could spend some time together.Dave had such determination. He was so loving.He was so giving. He willingly gave up going to his Senior Prom to go to mine. As I fondly think of that night I still can see...

I never had the privilege of meeting Dr. Newton so I cannot say anything on a personal note but I do know that this is such a tragic loss because there is certainly a great sadness among our whole community. My thoughts and prayers go out to the whole Newton family. May God be by your side at this most difficult time in your lives.

But in this short time it became evident that he was a warm, compassionate, and caring man. He was loved by patient, colleague, staff, and friend. I met Dr. Newton when he first came to Lehighton Hosp. & I've worked with him for years since. During that time, I've seen his ambition, determination, & hard work at its greatest levels. I've seen compassion & empathy for his pts. along with frustration & heartbreak. I've seen his love for family & animals, & dedication to his friends.
