David Richards Nielsen

My condolences go out to the Nielsen family. Like many otolaryngologists, I benefitted just by being around Dr. Nielsen. I will never forget that he made a special visit to Indiana in November of 2009 to speak at out statewide meeting about "The Future of Surgery in the Era of Health Care Reform." His clarity, his kindness, and his ability to predict the future were remarkable. Thank you for supporting him as he worked on our behalf as otolaryngologists to be our leader and friend.

Dr. Nielsen was a friend since we met while attending the Denver, CO temple just days before the horrific day 9/11/01. We were each catching a temple session while in Denver for the 2001 Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. We shared a ride back to the meeting David was a mentor as a honorable surgeon and man. I will miss him. I offer my prayers to his family and loved ones.
