I knew David and Gaynor, Jonathan and Mary, many years ago in England. David was a man of great faith, a fine teacher, with a wicked sense of humour.
He played the organ at my wedding, and at the rehearsal he belted out "Roseanna" in place of "Hosanna". Remembering this on the day dispelled any nerves I may have had! I was sad to hear that Gaynor too had died, a loyal and true friend. We sadly lost touch after they left for the Antipodes! May they rest in peace.

I was honoured to share an office with David O'Sullivan when I joined the (then) Canberra CAE in 1972, and then to go with him and Denis Driscoll (deceased) to the University of the South Pacific to teach the Post Graduate Diploma in Education. He was a gentle man, a good scholar and a charming man who stood out for principle when the need arose. He and his family greeted my family with great grace when they moved to Canberra, and the affection remained when we moved on. Rest in...
