Not sure what to say?

We called him "Little David" because my brother was also David Oberly. I knew him during my school days. We were on the high School Basketball team together, midget football team at Riegel Ridge. When I left to go out to Kansas to College I never talked to him or saw him again. Little David was a good kid and I miss him but I see him in his children. RIP David RIP. He left his loved ones too soon. Dale Oberly

Hi - I don't know if this book is still monitored, but I hope it is. Mr. Oberly was my pre-calculus and calculus teacher at Spring Valley from 1987 - 1989. Words simply cannot describe how much I loved him. He was my favorite teacher, ever, and I have carried him in my heart these 30 years. I went on to Cornell University and the University of Virginia law school, and am now a mergers and acquisitions lawyer in Atlanta. I have had many amazing teachers and mentors, but none that I have...

While I didn't know David well or for long, I did know him, his sister Ruthann, his mother & father, and his maternal grandmother. I'm sure I'm one of the first South Carolinians he ever met. In 1964, while I was a student at USC, I met fellow students Ruthann Oberly and her friend Barb Schaible from New Jersey. By chance I was going to work in South Jersey that summer at a produce shed in Egg Harbor so I drove them home to Milford, NJ at the end of Spring semester.I was warmly welcomed by...

Remembering my one and only Brother-In-Law, David John Oberly. I would like to say: Roses are red
Violets are blue
David David I sure
Will miss you
He was just too sweet to ever be forgotten. I will always remember how he made the Family "get togethers" so much fun. When on vacation together, he and Brother (Paul) were always the life of the party. Kathy and I got nicknames. It would always get us going, and he knew it. Kathy and I were always wondering what...

Pulling my hair, telling me there's a spot of mustard on my shirt, my shoe is untied, food appearing on my plate or disappearing...this was clearly my Uncle David! He was one to ALWAYS play jokes on me. One thing I remember and always will remember is him asking me some really long math equation (math is my worst subject by far) and I would reply..."I don't know"...and his answer would be..."My goodness Megan, don't you learn anything?" I am so proud and feel privileged that my husband...

You are a one in a million Kathy... Call me anytime ;) God Bless you and your family...

I KNEW DAVE ALL THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL. HE WAS ALSO MY SECOND COUSIN. WE PLAYED BASKETBALL FOR DVR AND I REMEMBER HE WAS A GOOD PLAYER AND LOVED THE GAME.
I LIVE IN MONTANA NOW AND HAVEN'T SEEN HIM SINCE 1964. I READ WHAT DAVE DID IN HIS SHORT LIFE. WHAT MORE COULD A PERSON DO .
HE WAS A GREAT MAN AND TEACHER!
HE WILL BE MISSED BY HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS.

I just wanted to say i'm so sorry to the Oberly family for their loss. I had Mr. Oberly for Calculus at CC. I really did not like math and did not quite understand math until I took Obester's class. He made it fun and never got mad when you asked a million questions! I enjoyed his class so much and enjoyed all his little jokes/pranks! I even asked him to write a recommendation letter for an internship I applied to last summer. He came to class one day with a piece of paper claiming to be...

Kathy and Family,
We are truely sorry about the loss of your husband David. I have only known him as a kind nice husband and know that he has changed many lives through his teachings. It was always nice to see you and David had a wonderful relationship. We know that he will be missed by many. We have, as many others, you in our thoughts and prayers. Kathy, if you need anything please do not hesitate to call.

Love Beah and Chris Fitzgerald, Lucienne, Justin, Tornado, and Little Lady!
