Condolences and prayers to Mr. Palmateer's family. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I knew him as a wonderful adult in my life and one of my favorite teachers. It was evident to me, even in fifth grade, that he loved teaching and cared about his students. He brought soccer to Ben Franklin Elementary before it was a popular sport, had us write poetry, and if you seemed sad, he noticed and wanted to know why. He treated us like we were his equals. Dave was a teacher of mine in 1968 at Washington School. It was a middle school at the time. He was a fresh out of the box 1st year teacher back then. Years latter i met him again at WMS the year he retired. He was still playing "Silent Ball" there too. As a substitute teacher in The BC public Schools i still carry a ball for the game that I learned back in his classroom. I think of him everytime I whip the ball out to get thru the last minutes of the class before the bell. What a guy....

One of the best I've ever had the pleasure to meet. I try to emulate his temperance, but it's so hard to do, especially when missing an easy chip shot or 2 ft. putt. He never seemed to have a problem with it. I am sure anyone who ever knew Dave will miss him greatly. Joe McFarland

Dave was a blessing to all who knew him. You could truly say Dave was a man who loved God and lived his life for him. Dave will be greatly missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
