I worked for Dave at CU Processing for several years, along with his sister Deborah (Simone), with whom I became enduring friends, and so many others including Mark Rees, Sol Berry, Bud Salyers, Kim and Jerry Fair, and on and on. Where have the years gone? I recently learned of Deborah's passing and along the way learned that Dave passed a year later. Impossible to believe. Dave was a people person, plain and simple. He could probably charm the skin off a snake with that huge grin of his! I...

I met Dave in 1997 as husband of my wife's dearest childhood friend when I weekly commuted from Raleigh NC to Madison Heights MI for 3 years. We shared some great times at the lake, MU games, Red Wings hockey, and at my daughters wedding in Charleston, SC. He was such a generous friend and extended his hospitality and good spirit to so many people. He had an inquisitive mind and was engaging in warmth to new people in business circles. When my job and business life changed to the East Coast...

Dave - I am who I am in life because of the 30+ years we spent together. All my successes were a direct result of my association with you. Many will never know the strong bond we shared with each other. Through all the bad times (they were few) that were outweighed by the many many great times professionally and
Personally. I really loved you. God knows the quality of the Person he is receiving. RIP

Chris, Pat and Melissa, I am so sorry to read this. I have a lot of really fond memories with your family, but when I read this my mind immediately went to Higgins Lake. I will always remember your dad having a giant box of donuts on the counter and a day on the lake planned out and a big smile on his face.
Prayers for your family as you mourn this loss.
Love,
Matt and Missy Eckenrode
