Dave, I miss our days on the air. A great set of pipes as they would say.

Dave was a few years younger than me when in the summer of 1949 when he (SHORTY), Dick Elvee (BUCK) and I (JERRY) were in the film "That Kid Buck". We spent several weeks at Youth Haven 0n Wolf Lake during the filming. Maurie Carlson & Ken Anderson who wrote the script directed the film making & showed the film all over West Michigan & later in most states around the country. My mom made copies of articles in The Chronicle from Sept & Oct 1949. Dave Attended Heights Baptist at the time (where...

Dave was a great personal friend in those teen years and my coronet idol. He also very succesfully played the leading role in the movie "That Kid Buck" ie, Buck. To the family members "May the Lord Bless you and keep you. May His face shine down upon you and give you peace."

Dave & I spent much time together between 1952 & 1955 playing coronet in the MHS band & orchestra. Dave played 1st chair,& I played 2nd for most of that time. Once in a while I'd "challenge" him-resulting in my picking him off for a short time;--(we both knew that Bill Stewart "handed" it to me for short periods because we ALL knew Dave was so much better than me).
Dave & I also played at many churches-primarily Calvary Baptist--as well as the Hymn Sings at the Lake.
Though it's...

David's years of service to Muskegon Governmental Employees Federal Credit Union will be fondly remembered as he was Chairperson of the Supervisory Committee for many years and was also instrumental in starting the scholarship program. God bless you, Linda, for the excellent care you provided David.

I met Dave when I first started working at CMH. I told him then that his voice sounded very familiar to me and when he told me that he was the person that had the radio program, I replied, "Oh, my Dad used to make us listen to you all the time!" Dave just laughed. He sure had a story for everything. I have many fond memories of him.

When I think of my happy childhood, I list Mr. Parks right on top of great memories.
He was "fresh" out of college when he taught our sixth grade class at Maple Grove. I do believe his influence was instrumental in my becoming an elementary teacher for 37 years. His love for kids was amazing! We all knew that he deeply cared for each one of us.
His years at WTRU will always be fondly remembered by every teen during that time period, also.
May you find comfort during this...
