David Winfield Parmelee

I knew David from Sunday School, Confirmation Class and Hi-League. He was always a gentleman.

Dave and I were in school together from the first to the twelfth grade and he never had a bad day. Looking back, he was a gentleman before his contemporaries could even define the term. He was such an avid BoSox fan that his schoolmates of the day often called him "Pumpsie". Staying with baseball, legendary manager Leo Durocher is qouted as saying: "Nice guys finish last." Durocher obviously never met David Parmelee.

I have many happy memories of playing canasta on the sun...

In 1997, I was hired by David to be his Executive Assistant at Bank of America and to work for the Jacob L and Lewis Fox Foundation. It was the start of a wonderful working relationship. He was the best boss both at BofA and Fox Foundation, where I still work. My deepest sympathy to his wife, Arlene, his children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all those who knew him.

David was a true gentleman in every sense of the word. He always made sure he gave appreciation and dignity to those around him! He will be remembered with joy and gratitude!

With fond remembrance I extend my Deepest Sympathy to David's family. We were classmates together at both Kennelly Elementary and Bulkeley High School. My nephew Mark who was a Fox Scholar always spoke highly of David as well. RIP David

My condolences to the Parmelee family. I got to know David and Arlene when I had Laura as an English student for three consecutive years. A special memory is the backyard candlelit dinner they hosted when Laura graduated from Middlebury College. It was very clear that the Parmelees were a loving and closeknit family and that David was their rock.
