I miss David terribly. Music was his passion. I miss our discussions and I miss his knowledge of opera and French culture. I wish I could have seen him before he died.

Sorry for sending my condolences to David's family so late. I live in France, and just saw the obituary. David was a wonderful colleague at Tufts, where I was a lecturer in French in the mid-80's. We shared many lovely times along with our mutual friend Gérard Montbertrand, both in Boston and in Talloires. Dearest David, you were such a darling! Rest in peace.

I will always remember our spirited discussions about opera. Miss you, beloved friend.

We will miss David at 84 Gainsborough St! He served generously as a trustee for many years, and I always enjoyed running into him in the building. We commiserated over the travails of teaching in higher ed, and I won't soon forget his infectious energy. My deepest sympathies to his loved ones for their loss.

David was a valued colleague at Tufts University for a number of years, and we shared many in-depth conversations about languages, academics, and politics. I send my condolences to his family and will miss him.
