Capt. Pearson was my commanding officer when I was transferred to Station Weapons in 1993. During my time there we had few interactions, but those that we had spoke about his character as a man and a Marine. Rest in peace, Sir.

I met Captain David K. Pearson in the early summer of 1990. I reported to him at Station Weapons, MCAS Yuma, AZ. I was coming off of recruiting duty and admittedly, I was not as proficient in my new duties as I would've liked to be. Captain Pearson showed all the patience in the world with me and mentored and schooled me until I was proficient in new assignment. He never once lost confidence in my abilities.
