Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel Obituary

William “David” Peltzer, at the age of 55 passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, in Pensacola, FL.

He was born on October 19, 1969, to William and Carol Sonnenmoser Peltzer. David was a loving and devoted father, husband, and son. Born and raised in Atchison, KS, he graduated from Maur Hill Prep School after which he continued on to the US Naval Academy, Class of ‘92. He served honorably in the Navy as an Electronic Counter Measures Warfare Officer for 9 years. In 2001, he transitioned to civilian life in Pensacola, FL so he could devote more time to his family. He then worked for the GE Wind Turbine Plant for 16 years. After retiring from GE, he began the project of renovating and managing several properties in the area while raising his children. David always loved making and fixing things - from cars to houses, appliances, and whatever else he could get his hands on. He passed on his enthusiasm and knowledge to his children, who will always remember their time building and tinkering together with him. David always made sure whatever he worked on was done too the highest quality possible, no matter the extra time or effort. His children will carry forward the lessons he taught them, not just in fixing things but in approaching life with enthusiasm and integrity. Though he is no longer with us, the love and memories he created will remain a guiding force in their lives, reminding us all of the importance of family and the joy found in every shared moment.

David is preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Peltzer.

Those left to cherish his memory include, his loving wife, Hai “Holly” Tran; sons, Zachary and Christopher “Binh Minh” Peltzer, William Ngo; daughter, Elizabeth “Sao Mai” Peltzer; parents, Carol & Bill Peltzer; brothers, Andrew and his wife Kate, Matt and his wife Billie; sisters, Amy Peltzer, Karen and her husband Said Ouddali.

Visitation in Pensacola will be held from 2:00pm until 4:00pm on Sunday, October 27, 2024, at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, Pensacola, FL.

Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held in Atchison, KS, on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at St Joseph Church, 8th St & Spring Garden, with Father Luke serving as Celebrant. A Committal service will be held at Mt. Calvary in Atchison, KS.

To Holly and the Peltzer Family, I offer you my deepest heartfelt condolences and prayers in the passing of your beloved son, husband, father, brother and friend. May you find comfort in his spirit of excellence in the life and love created with each of you. I admire his dedication to his wife and children!

David was dedicated to his family and had a servant's heart. Philippians 2:3-4 tells us, "Don't be selfish, don't try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don't look out only for your own interests but take an interest in others too." That was David. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Holly, our thoughts and prayers are with you, the children and all the Peltzer family.

My sincere condolences and prayers for David's whole family. David was my Son-in-Law for a time and is the Father of my Grandson, Zachary. I am so very sorry. May God bless this whole family at this time of sorrow.

David was a classmate of my son Jim at the Naval academy and also in my son"s wedding. I spent many happy times visiting with David and his beautiful family when I lived in the Pensacola area. He was so proud of his sweet family. Prayers and love to all the Peltzers. My heart breaks for you

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.
