Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium Inc. - Merrimack Obituary

David Peterson, 68, of Nashua, NH, born and raised in Winchester, MA, passed away on March 26, 2022. He was the beloved husband to Michelle Peterson for almost 50 years.

David was an entrepreneur at heart, owning and operating two video stores in the Woburn/Winchester area.  After becoming an empty nester, he moved to Nashua where he was a Quality Control Inspector at Benchmark Electronics.  David was loyal to his occupation and it was no surprise that his coworkers became family to him.

For those who knew David well, knew of his gifts for cooking, humor, and storytelling, but most of all, knew about his passion for music. He was an avid drummer, drumming on everything he could: his drums, the table, walls, and always the car steering wheel.  His drumming spanned over 52 years, across 7 bands and 1 album.  He especially enjoyed playing for his family and friends at weddings, fundraisers, and parties.

David was a devoted family man who loved hosting epic Thanksgiving dinners and celebrating the Fourth of July in grand style.  David was predeceased by his parents Joanne Milano (Giacalone) and Charles Peterson.  He is survived by his loving wife, Michelle Peterson, and his three children: Jessica Levensalor, Melinda Walton, son-in-law Todd Walton, and his son David Peterson, Jr.  David is also survived by his sisters, Cindy Clark and Lori Peterson, as well as 9 nieces and nephews.  David’s legacy will live on through his grandchildren: Dylan, Cody, Quinn, Zander, and his great granddaughter Natalie.

David’s family welcomes all to pay their respects at a Memorial Calling Hour at the Rivet Funeral Home at 425 Daniel Webster Highway in Merrimack, NH on Saturday April 9th from 1:00pm to 2:00pm.  A brief service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home at 2 PM. A celebration of David’s Life will be held immediately afterwards at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Nashua at 2 Somerset Parkway.  Please come and share your favorite memories and stories with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, to honor David’s nephews, please consider a donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (https://www.mda.org)

Not sure what to say?

Our deepest sympathies to all of you.

My heart is broken for the Peterson family. I had the pleasure of working and knowing Dave through work. He always had the best stories to share. He will be deeply missed at Benchmark.

My deepest condolences to Dave Peterson's family. I had the pleasure of working at Benchmark with Dave for many years. It was during those times we shared many stories. He was such a nice person to talk with and he had many stories to tell. You could hear him drumming on his desk from across the room. He always talked about his family and all the family gatherings. I as well as all his Benchmark family will miss him.

You will be sadly missed Dave❤

My deepest condolences to all of Dave's family , I had the pleasure of working with Dave for many years on the weekend shift ,It was during those times we shared many stories. He was such a fun person to talk with and I enjoyed all his stories about his love for music. But the greatest stories that we shared was about his family. He told me that being a grandfather was the best thing imaginable. I as well as all his Benchmark family will miss him.

Our hearts are so very heavy for the entire immediate and extended Peterson family. Dave was one of the most sincere, genuine, funny, and kindest men we have ever had the privilege of knowing. There wasn’t a day that went by that he couldn’t make us laugh in & out of work (CMARC). He had a rare old soul filled with character and integrity. He was a protector and a safe place for anyone who needed support, and stood his ground for what was right and just no matter the repercussions from...

Melinda, Todd, Quinn, Zander, and all that loved David.
Our deepest sympathies are sent to you all at this very difficult time. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.
Love and healing sent to you all.
Much love
John Bartells Jr. and Nicole Kanable Bartells

The banter, the jokes, the teasing and smiles... nothing but smiles when I recall any interaction with you or the opportunity to observe you to makimg your daughter's eyes roll with foolish dad jokes. Your spirit and energy will be missed

Offering our deepest condolences during this time.
