David, though you've been gone a year, you remain in my thoughts. You were a very loyal friend to me and I consider you one of the finest men I've ever known. One never to be forgotten.

David, you slipped out of the bonds of this life into a heavenly one without me knowing it. I only found out about your passing last Tuesday at the Metroplex Marine Corps Coordinating Council meeting from your friend Mike McCollum. I was in the Marines with David. We first met at 29 Palms, Calif. in the spring of 1963. I relocated to MCRD San Diego and David would come to SD and spend most weekends. My regret is that we lost contact for years.
