Good friend, met on the Annapurna trek in Nepal. We also hiked northern India, Colorado, and many places in between. We also met in Moab in late July, driving the red rock country he loved so much.

My husband and I met Dave in Nepal in 2004. He and Dave had a last adventure driving their favorite routes in Moab Utah. They had a last text message on August 28. He is someone I will miss.

Dave was a talented & unique person. I met him years ago, hiked with him at times, did technical canyons with him a few times. One he named, Das Boot, I Joined him on that venture, with others & got photos of him. He let me know, months ago of his malady, and then it finally knocked him down. To his family I wish all of you the best.

I knew Dave Pitney. I met him in 2001 when he passed through Zion Canyon. He would often drop by and stay at my place when he returned from his many travels.We did a lot of slot canyons together over the years. He was always smiling and upbeat and a really great guy. I will miss him.
