Not sure what to say?

This is so belated but I still wanted to share with David's family and friends what they already know...David was a wonderful, special person. I spent four years with David at what was then known as Nyack Missionary College. He was my tennis doubles partner and he was married to my sister for several years. We lost touch through the years but recently we had reconnected on the phone and email. When my wife found out that David had written books and was a professor at Yale she said that she...

Dearest Family,
I had the privilege of being taught by Dr. Powell in clinical supervision. He approached this field with great dignity and humility. He will be greatly missed~

We know much will be said about David Powell's contributions to the field of Substance Abuse treatment field, especially in the area of clinical supervision. We would like to add that this kind, gentle, brilliant, man's contributions to the men and women of the US Navy and Marine Corps continues today with the use of his Blended Model for clinical supervision via the Clinical Preceptorship Program. I will always remember his deep respect for military members and his fondness for the...

Dear Barbara and family,
My deepest sympathy goes out to you at this sad time. I feel so fortunate to have know David and all the wonderful tributes he has done for different countries and their people.
I have purchased "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come" in memory of David...the OSA choir will be singing this anthem on Sunday, November 24th.
You are in my heart and prayers.

Dear Barbara, Heather, Kirstin,
Words cannot describe how profoundly saddened we are to hear of the loss of David. Despite knowing of some of his amazing accomplishments, we are astounded to learn of the breadth of his endeavors. Despite that David spent his life's work helping others to address some of the world's most difficult challenges, he had an impressive ability to always bring lightness and laughter to the Lake that we will never forget. The girls are deeply saddened, and upon...

David advocated for addiction counseling to become a licensed profession. His letters to government helped change laws in CT. Thanks again!

David was one of my teachers. I have shared his wisdom with my own students many times over. He will be missed.

Twenty years ago David gave this struggling young mental health worker hope. Giving me his book on supervision led to an amazing life.

Dear Barbara,

I am so sorry for your loss. My husband and I are honored and feel privilaged to have been Dr. Powell's students.
