Not sure what to say?

It has been three years now since my closest brother in age, David, has passed. I often think of him and remember him fondly. We spent a lot of time together growing up and into early adulthood. His wife, Lynne, recently passed in Kansas City after a period of declining health. I've reached the age now where I am as old as Dave was when he died. I thank the Lord for the blessings of a long life enriched by family and friends and good health. I miss you brother!

It has taken me a little bit to gather my thoughts about Dave. He came into our familys life 18 years ago when he married our mother. He was a very kind and loving man who loved our mother very deeply. During those years we saw them sporadically because we lived across the state. Dave was compassionate. He struggled with mental illness, as did my mother. Yet, he worked so hard to be mentally healthy. In 2006 my family moved to Colorado. We could only take the basics with us and Dave and...

I did not know him well; but I admire his assistance to his wife's dedication to the mentally ill!! I also admire him for what I read from John Hartrich's praise of him!!! Truly a "Man for Others"!! I look forward to getting to know you more in that place called Paradise!!

We are so saddened to hear the news of David. He graduated from SLUH a couple of years ahead of me but he would reach out to me for any help that I might have needed as a freshman. We worked together during our SLUH days at Straub's fine foods. I had the good fortune of stocking the produce department while David manned the cash register. I fondly remember giving him as much fresh squeezed orange juice as he wanted! Between the deli and the produce departments, we were well fed during...

As the fourth of five brothers, David was closest to me in age with only three years separating us. He was an inspiring older brother--handsome, athletic, popular and hard-working. He and I shared many happy hours together playing football, basketball, baseball and tennis during our youth. I so admired him and the many friends he brought to our home in Parkview--many of whom became friends to me as well. He was the quarterback on the St. Roch parochial school football team in 1959 coached by...
