Melbourne Cup 2011

well Mr D, an appropriate glass of red was raised to you at Connections 2012 :) It sure has been a journey and your insight hasn't been forgotten. Pai marire (Peace & Goodness)

I was blessed to meet David last year. I will never forget his warmth, generosity, cheekiness, determination and courage. Such a beautiful soul.

It is with great shock and sadness as i found out about Davids passing. Hoping you are at peace wherever you are.was a privilege to know you

Through my daugher we have heard a lot about David, his life and his work, and have admired him and all that he has achieved. I was looking foward to meeting him in 2012, but alas that was not to be. His passing has had a deep impact on our family. We send our sincerest condolences to David's family and friends and our thoughts are with you all.

David and Michelle were tireless in their work for the spinal cord injured. I will always remember his strength and efforts to support research. He was an inspiration to us all and we will miss him.
Elspeth McLachlan (Sydney/Glasgow)

So sad when we heard the news. We met him personally when my husband was still in Royal Rehab Centre in 2010. We have been inspired by his spirit. RIP David Prast.

My wife and I briefly met David on a flight from Perth to Sydney in 2008 after the ANSCoS conference. We talked for only a few minutes as we transferred into our wheelchairs but both agreed on the importance of that old word 'hope'. For such a short meeting, David really stood out to us. We're sad to hear of your passing and our thoughts are with your family and friends. Johnny & Corrin Bourke, New Zealand

To Michelle, family and friends, colleagues and mates of David Prast, and on behalf of the Paraplegic Benefit Fund, please accept our condolences. We had the privilege of meeting David and following his dedication to his work, which he did with relentless passion, and which he delivered for all those living with spinal cord injuries. Your memory lives on, through the pursuit of full and enriched lives in spite of disabilities. Thank you, David. - May Bowden, General Manager, on behalf of PBF...

David - you will be sadly missed by all your trans-Tasman colleagues in NZ. Always quick with a tongue-in-cheek comment about the latest rugby score as you were with your drive for better interventions and outcomes for people with SCI. Whether talking with scientists, clinicians or politicians, your positivity and professionalism did not go un-noticed, and was truly inspirational. Sincere condolences and sympathies to Michelle and family. Kia kaha
