I don't remember the first time I met Dave. It's possible that we encountered each other in the hallways of Southside as my mom and his mom finished their instruction for the day. Or was it in the milkroom next to Joann's classroom where we would attempt to sneak out a pint of chocolate milk with impunity? Regardless of my memory, Dave influenced my life at an early age.
