David Anthony Proulx of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2017 at the age of 73 years. David was born January 28, 1944 in Long Beach, California. David is preceded in death by his parents, Paul Napoleon Proulx of Attleboro, Massachusetts and Theresa Marie Gousie Proulx of Providence, Rhode Island. David is survived by his brother, Robert Proulx of Altadena, California, his wife, Katherine Proulx, his son David Roy Proulx of New Iberia, Louisiana, his daughter Michelle Proulx Hebert (husband Marty Hebert) of New Iberia, Louisiana, his son Robert Proulx of Houston, Texas, his daughter Rozalyn Proulx Duplantis (husband Kirk Duplantis) of Denham Springs, Louisiana, his son Jason Paul Proulx of San Antonio, Texas, 18 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild
David graduated from Downey Senior High School in May of 1961 and soon after joined the United States Navy in September of 1961. David served two terms in the U.S. Navy as a member of Air Squadron Nineteen as an Anti-Submarine Warfare Technician. He retired from the U.S. Navy in April of 1969 where he was awarded a Good Conduct Medal as well as National Defense Service Medal.
David worked for the Los Angeles Coroner’s office until his retirement in early 1982. After retirement, David relocated to San Antonio Texas in 1990 where he spent his remaining years divulged in his passion for loving life. David enjoyed being at home, with his dog Skitzy, and devoted countless hours to his passion of knife and air-gun craftsmanship.
A celebration of life event will be held for David Anthony Proulx on Saturday, July 22 2017. Please contact his son Jason Proulx, 210-912-3823, for further details regarding this event.
