Not sure what to say?

I know this is more than 11 years later, and I am sorry to be finding out so late, but I just want to offer my deep condolences to all those who loved Dr. David Purpel, who was one of my dissertation advisors and professors. He was a wonderful man, and I know your memories have strengthened you. May he rest in peace, and may his memory always be a blessing. I don't think I would have finished my doctorate without his good counsel and support. He gets a lot of credit for any good that I...

David was a warm and caring person. When my husband Nathan Adelman and I got in touch with David, it was something we always cherished. I only wish that we could have met in person. Though it had been years since Nathan had last spoken to David, it was as if they were one.
Though Nathan too has passed, our prayers are with you and your family.

I have recounted many times to unbelieving ears how he met with me every week as I struggled through the dissertation process. But, he never suffered fools, even when they worked hard. I'll never forget the day that I took him lots of pages that I had worked...

Dr. Purpel touched my life with his gentle kindness, insight, and wisdom. As my teacher and mentor in the doctoral program, Dr. Purpel inspired me to strive higher in my thinking, my research, and my studies. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this difficult time.
