I was so saddended to learn news of your loss. I have just returned from a TDY in Africa. I know how much David meant to you and your girls and how proud we all were of his achievements.

Dear Marjorie,

I have just received the news with disbelieve and deep sorrow; David was a great man that I just got to know in the past three years and it seemed like I knew him for eternity. He was a giving man, a noble man and above all a man that gave his life to serve his country and the world to make it a better one. All his friends that knew him at home, in Saudi, and the Gulf will remember his contribution to society and everyone grieves him.

What dreadful news! St. Margaret's won't be the same without David, and you have my warmest sympathies.

To my genuine regret, I can't make the service on Saturday. I'm cochairing the Advent retreat--which will include heartfelt prayers for David, you, your family, and your friends.
